The Cowboy and The Pansy

Not so long ago in a land not so far away lived a cowboy and a pansy.

The cowboy ruled the kingdom for awhile and the kingdom was strong. And when the kingdom was attacked, the cowboy said to the brave citizens of the land “I hear you, and soon, the world will hear all of us.” And soon all kingdoms of the planet knew what a terrible mistake it was to wake the sleeping giant. And the great kingdom, under the leadership of the cowboy, brought justice to those that dared to challenge the mighty kingdom and its way of life.

The cowboy believed that if the kingdom showed “..weakness and uncertainty, the world will drift toward tragedy. That will not happen on my watch.” And he was right, for the kingdom was strong, feared by its enemies and respected by its friends.

And for a long time the kingdom grew and prospered under the cowboy. Things were good.

But as time went on, the subjects in the kingdom forgot who was keeping them safe and they started to blame the cowboy for all of the ills of the kingdom. This came to pass when the kingdom’s money keepers and money changers became greedy, thoughtless and forgot what great opportunities there are in the kingdom, but only if you’re an honest man or woman.

Soon, there were many who blamed the cowboy for these unhappy times. But few saw that it was really the court jesters known as Frank and Dodd who actually helped make things very bad by urging their puppets known as “fannie and freddie” to give castle loans to the subjects who did not deserve them. And the people, too, were to blame for wrongfully taking such loans to buy castles they could not afford.

And as time went on many of the subjects found themselves with worthless castles and too many bills, and had to give back their less-than-humble abodes to the greedy money lenders. This caused panic among the cowboy’s friends and enemies and many thought “we must spend more of the subjects’ money to make things right”. But they were wrong.

And so, the subjects of the cowboy, growing weary of this upheaval in the kingdom decided they needed a new ruler, one who would bring them “hope and change”. And out of nowhere, for the people knew not of him, came the pansy.

The pansy talked about “spreading wealth” to pay bills and it all sounded so good, especially to those who never paid bills before. But many many in the kingdom said such talk was vague or perhaps the talk of past enemies but disguised to sound nicer to the ears of the residents of the grand kingdom. But those warnings were not headed by the masses for they only saw big promises of better times yet to come.

And so the people decided that the pansy shall rule for awhile. For while they knew little of what the pansy was about, the people were mesmerized by what he said for all sounded so good.

And things were good. For a little while. The people rejoiced in the selection of the pansy for never before has such a pansy ever been selected by the people of the great kingdom.

But the rejoicing was short lived. The subjects of the pansy began to realize that many of the pansy’s friends were not well suited to rule a kingdom. In fact, many of the pansy’s friends lived with the pansy in the great white castle but no one knows how, or why, they got to be there for no one approved of their selection.

And as time went on, the pansy went to many other kingdoms and apologized to them for the bad things that his kingdom did. And rather than speak of the once great and mighty kingdom, the pansy spoke of “world order” and getting along with enemies of the kingdom that had sworn its defeat.

This confused the pansys’ subjects for the people of the great land knew that while the kingdom had made mistakes, it was still a great, powerful and benevolent kingdom that had committed much good in the world. The subjects knew that no other kingdom on the face of that planet had shed more of its sons and daughters’ blood in defense of freedom. And that this good and great kingdom was known for its defense of freedom for all the oppressed peoples of the world.

But the pansy never talked about that.

And as time went on the other kingdoms began to laugh at the once great kingdom, realizing that its leader was, in fact, a pansy. And as the pansy turned his kingdom’s back on old friends in the great Eastern lands that boarded the mighty bear, the subjects of the pansy began to grow more and more weary of the pansy’s indecisiveness and constant apology of the once great kingdom they lived in.

And so the subjects of the land began to speak out in powerful gatherings and soon marched upon the pansy’s white castle to tell the pansy they did not like his rule and did not like the things he was saying or proposing. But the pansy’s supporters. many of whom were the scribes and history keepers of the kingdom and who wrote and spoke of such things as is their business to do, ignored the great gatherings all across the land. Only one such group of scribes, equally charged with bringing information to the people, was brave enough to broadcast the truth of what the people were thinking and saying that day about the pansy.

But this upset the pansy and his group in the white castle and so they ignore those scribes information givers as punishment for speaking the truth and exposing the pansy for what he is.

The kingdom is restless now and many speak in whispers and low tones for fear that the pansy may have many in his charge spying on his people. But his subjects speak nonetheless and dream of the day when the pansy will be banished from the kingdom and a new dawn of greatness and wonder will soon follow for the kingdom.

The people know that day will arrive. So for now the loyal subjects of the kingdom organize; speak and are brave of heart and clear in thinking. The subjects shall carefully watch the pansy to be certain that no more children of the land are brainwashed by the pansy’s minions. The people know that they now must watch all things “pansy”.

As as the pansy tries to turn the kingdom into pansy-land, it is hoped and prayed that the people will stop him before the kingdom, and its subjects, are all thought of as pansys.
